Before & Forever Textile Exhibition | 5th September - 31st October 2012

South Lambeth Library, South Lambeth Road, London

"Before and Forever" is created as a contemporary re-working of the strip woven cloths of West Africa. Using a varied selection of patterns and colours, the printed and woven textiles have been sourced from Africa, the Caribbean and Europe to reflect the roots, journeys and community of the African Diaspora. "Before and Forever"" reminds us that what was ours before - the sea, the earth, the light, the sun, the sky and the land - will be ours forever.

 VisibleByDesign©  -  Launch date 9th May 2012

Salongo Arts is pleased to announce a new design partnership with Creative Fruits

& La Petite Congalaise "VisibleByDesign"©

VisibleByDesign is bringing together the talents and creative vision

of Munirah Olton (SA) Ameena McConnell ( CF) and Laurence Kanza (LPC)

to turn the spotlight on Women in the design world.

The partnership aims to stimulate and develop an intercultural creative dialogue

that captures the essence of the creative process and the influence that Women

as a whole have upon the various sectors of the design world.

VisibleByDesign is an exciting and timely collaboration for Salongo Arts being a

development of my own creative perspective and practice.

I will be focusing on Curatorial and Programme Development, with a view to

highlighting the unseen contribution women worldwide make to design by

establishing a programme of initiatives and events that allow those who are currently

" unconsciously" visible to become visible, by design.

Look out for the press release for details of our first project that will be circulated from today.
